About the Opportunity
Title: Investment Analyst Intern
Job Description: As an Investment Analyst, you’ll work directly with Lakeview Partners’ founders to assist in identifying, evaluating, and performing due diligence on potential target companies. This is a unique opportunity to learn about private equity, entrepreneurship through acquisition, and the lifecycle of buying and operating small and medium entities across different countries.
Location: Hybrid
Start Date: 10th March 2025
Duration: 3 to 6 months initial term. Potential to be extended up to 1 year.
Time Commitment: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
As an Investment Analyst Intern you will support Lakeview Partners’ core activities, including: 

Market Research and Target Identification 

• • Conduct industry research to identify attractive sectors and sub-segments 
  • Build and maintain a database of potential acquisition opportunities 
  • Identify key market trends and competitive landscape insights 

Financial Analysis and Modelling 

• • Analyse financial statements of potential target companies 
  • Build and maintain financial models to support valuation and investment analysis 
  • Develop projections, conduct sensitivity analyses, and assist in structuring of the acquisition 

Outreach and Deal Sourcing 

• • Participate in and coordinate outreach campaigns to business owners, brokers, and other stakeholders 
  • Prepare and send outreach materials, such as emails and presentations, to potential targets 
  • Track and manage relationships with business owners and advisors throughout the deal pipeline 

Due Diligence Support 

• • Assist in compiling and reviewing due diligence materials for high-potential deals 
  • Participate in calls and meetings with business owners, brokers, and advisors 
  • Conduct background research on target companies, including industry, financial, commercial and operational 

Other General Support 

• • Prepare presentations, investment memos, and other materials for internal use 
  • Support various administrative tasks, such as tracking deal flow, updating CRM systems, and preparing reports for investors 

Qualifications
The candidate for the role should: 

• Be pursuing an MBA or advanced degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field in a top-tier university 
• Have excellent English communication skills (especially written)
• Preferably have knowledge of Italian language (Optional)
• Have basic analytical, financial modelling, and Excel skills 
• Be proficient with PowerPoint and have basic familiarity with CRM tools 
• Be self-motivated and detail-oriented 
• Have strong communication skills, and the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment 
• Possess strong work ethic and willingness to learn 

Previous internships or coursework in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance are a plus. 

What to Expect and Learning Outcomes
Through an internship at Lakeview Partners, candidates will be able to get direct involvement across all stages of private equity transactions. 

During the internship, candidates will be able to gain hands-on experience with investment analysis, deal sourcing, due diligence and financial modelling, while being exposed to the full cycle of investment in small to medium-sized businesses, from identification of the target company, through negotiations and acquisitions.

In addition to this, Alex and Nicoló will be committed to the candidates’ career development providing training sessions on various topics including but not limited to financial statements analysis, financial modelling, data analytics, management of digital organisations and the search fund model. 

Candidates will also receive advice on how to prepare and break into investment banking and/or consulting across EMEA and the United States.
